Looking for something different for a hen do, a birthday, or a team day out? I run private, sip-and-paint style art sessions for groups who want to get creative together — no experience needed on anyone's part. I bring the materials, the theme and the encouragement; you bring the people.

What Happens at a Private Painting Session?

Every private session is built around a theme of your choosing, and everyone paints their own take on it, with as much (or as little) guidance from me along the way as they'd like. It's relaxed, sociable, and nobody needs to have picked up a paintbrush before.

Materials are all included: acrylic paints, canvases, pencils and paper for planning, and table coverings so the venue stays spotless. If you'd like refreshments organised for the day, I can arrange that too, at an additional cost.

The one thing you'll need to sort is the venue — book wherever works for your group, and I'll liaise directly with them beforehand so the day runs smoothly.

Who Books a Private Art Workshop?

Private sessions work for almost any group that wants to do something a bit different together: hen dos, birthday parties, family celebrations and corporate away days all come through my studio door, virtual or otherwise.

On the corporate side, I've run online painting sessions for a pharmaceutical company based in Ireland, a Kent-based NHS team and a school PTA from Hertfordshire, plus a lovely session based at Whitstable Castle for a US energy company with a local office.

A Recent Private Event — Seaside Hens in Margate

Most recently, I ran a hen do for 17 ladies at an events space in Margate, booked by the Maid of Honour. The theme was Seaside, and the paintings that came out of it were every bit as sunny as you'd hope. I provided prompt pictures and photo references so nobody was starting from a blank canvas.

Online or In Person

Prefer to keep everyone in one room, or spread across the country? Both work. In-person sessions run wherever your group books; online sessions run over Zoom, so distance is never a reason to skip it. Groups of 8–16 tend to work best for either format.

How Much Does It Cost?

Every private event is different, so pricing is done by quote rather than a fixed price list. Get in touch to talk through what you have in mind, and I'll put together a quote — either as a package or per person, depending on what suits your event. A deposit is required to secure your date, confirmed in your quote.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do we need any experience?

None at all. Most groups I work with have never painted before, and every session is designed with that in mind.

What's included for in-person sessions?

All materials — acrylic paints, canvases, pencils, paper and table coverings — plus my guidance throughout. Refreshments can be added for an extra cost if you'd like them organised.

How about online?

Online sessions require the attendees to provide their own resources, or for the host to provide them. With this in mind, each session is carefully planned to allow everyone to take part and enjoy it. I will work with you from the start to make sure the event works for you all.

Do you provide the venue?

No — you'll need to book the venue yourselves, but I'm happy to liaise with them directly beforehand so everything's ready to go.

Can we do this online?

Yes. Private sessions run over Zoom too, which works just as well for a distributed team as it does for a hen party who can't all get to the same place.
