New Creative Refresh!

It's been a while and there's been some changes here, but welcome back to my art blog where I will try to inspire you to get creative no matter your age!

But first, a reminder of who I am...

I'm Debbie, an art teacher and passionate creative. I just love to inspire art in everyone, but mainly I try to encourage anyone beginning to think about trying to draw or paint to just have a go!

I am also a primary school teacher by trade and spent many years encouraging children to do the same, and also researching and learning about how we all learn. My feeling is that as we grow and work our way through school, we often lose that enjoyment of just doodling or drawing until we just don't do it any more - and then when we do feel it again, we don't have the confidence any more...

Here I am running a local art group! This was the start of a BIG journey...

So, what's new?

Although I still enjoy teaching children, since 2023 I have taught adult art, with a focus on beginners. My mission took shape - create spaces where beginners can feel confident and inspired to learn, offering gentle encouragement and support to get them hooked!

From here, they could continue their journey and choose whether to keep learning with me.

This year I started an online Art Community. The aim of this is to offer another supportive space for learning and community events accessible from your own home!

With guided live sessions, four-week courses and learning modules the Art Community is beginning to take shape and my founding members are lucky enough to be at my side while I get it ready to release to the world!

Now you don't need to live near to me to benefit from my teaching!

And this blog is an extension of that!

I share A LOT on Instagram @debbie_swann_cygnini and I felt that I should do the same here, so each week I'll be dipping and diving into how you can start your art, with quick tips and techniques for you to try!
